The newly established Berlin Composition Prize 2025, endowed by the Stiftung am Grunewald, has drawn remarkable international attention in its inaugural year, with submissions from composers representing 19 countries across Europe, Asia, and the Americas.
The jury has decided to award two Main Prizes, each worth €3,000, to Gustav Ertbølle Madsen (*2003) and Ivan Naborshchikov (*1997).
The Encouragement Award of €1,000 goes to Mykhailo Kozyriatskyi (*1994).
The world premieres of the prize-winning works will be presented at the prize winner‘s concert on 10 October 2025 at 6:00 PM at the SONARLOFT – Kühlhaus Berlin, shaped and artistically directed by Wojciech Garbowski, Philipp Scheucher, and Konstantin Manaev.
