The Berliner Kompositionspreis 2026, endowed by the Stiftung am Grunewald, once again attracted wide international interest, with submissions from composers from 28 countries across five continents.
The jury has decided to award two Main Prizes ex aequo to Simon Rivet (Canada) and Antonino Caracò (Italy). The main prize, endowed with €5,000, is shared equally between the two laureates. Two Engagement Prizes of €1,000 each are awarded to Edmund Song (Singapore) and João Pinto (Portugal).
The prize-winning works will be presented at the Prize Winners’ Concert on 31 March 2026 at 8:00 PM at SONARLOFT – Kühlhaus Berlin, shaped and artistically directed by Konstantin Manaev, Wojciech Garbowski, and Philipp Scheucher.
Special thanks go to Konstantia Gourzi for her valuable artistic support and expertise, as well as to violinist Julia Smirnova and violist Ian Anderson for their support of the 2026 edition.
